Rainbow Migration, the LGBTQIA network for asylum seekers and migrants, has released an invite and a challenge to its many supporters ahead of its birthday this autumn. The group says "This year marks a significant milestone for us as we proudly celebrate three decades of supporting LGBTQI+ people going through the immigration and asylum system.
To commemorate our 30th anniversary, we invite you to join us in our exciting 30 for 30 challenge in September. Run, walk, swim, cycle, or use a wheelchair or other adaptive equipment to cover 30 miles throughout the month and raise much needed funds to help LGBTQI+ people settle safely in the UK. Since our inception in 1993 helping LGBTQI+ couples stay together in the UK, we have expanded and transformed into an organisation that provides a wide range of services to LGBTQI+ people seeking to build their lives here. Every year, our support and legal advice services help hundreds of people to access housing and essential services, make friends, build support networks, and secure their futures in the UK. Right now, your support is more important than ever, as this government’s policies are putting people’s lives at risk and LGBTQI+ people are not being made to feel welcome in the UK". If you would like to participate in the thirtieth anniversary fundraising challenge, pop along to the Rainbow Migration website.
