Pink News reports that organisers of Trans Pride Brighton were stunned when a huge turnout of some thirty thousand people made last weekend's event one of the largest the trans and non-binary communities have ever mounted in the UK. Reports for the top gay newswire said that "Organisers had expected between 5,000 to 10,000 people to attend, after a yellow weather warning for wind and rain meant they had to make a last minute change to the march route, but at least three times that number turned out on the day." Many groups and organisations took part in the march, including the Labour Party, the Green Party, Socialist Workers Party and anarchist groups. Lesbian feminists also participated, with placards reminding people that the movements are stronger together to fight the right wing. Fox Fisher, one of the trustees for Brighton Trans Pride, said "“Above all, trans joy is about unity. It is about standing together, holding each other up, and supporting our most vulnerable members. It is about the power of community, the magic of solidarity, and the beauty of diversity.”
