Co-op Treats Storegoers to Pride Anthems

05/06/2023

The high street Co-opwhich is undoubtedly the most ethical of the main supermarket chains in the UK, by dint of it being owned by its customers and not corporate concerns, has a long tradition of supporting its many LGBTQIA customers and staff.  For Pride Month, it's in house radio station, Co-op Radio, has been delivering nightly Pride anthems to the delight of its listeners.  The radio station, which is not readily available to the public except those with specialist satellite communications equipment, is produced for Co-op and delivered by satellite feed into its two and a half thousand branches nationwide.  Unlike some in store services, which just play tapes of music and advertisements for products, the Co-op Radio endeavours to provide a proper service of music, requests, store information, weather and news from morning when its first shops open until late at night when the last branches close.
