Gay Times reports that UK Black Pride is back for the first time since 2019. The celebration of black LGBTQIA diversity and community is an essential part of the wider Pride calendar and gives a chance for artists, stallholders, businesses and attendees to celebrate the intersection of black LGBTQIA identities in a safe and welcoming environment where to be black and queer is to be in the majority. A number of events leading up to the main festival day take place over the week starting Monday 8th August. Then, on Sunday 14th August, the venue to be is Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. There will be a wellbeing tent with a series of talks, workshops and discussions; community stalls, with organisations offering their services and raising awareness; and a main stage, with a day-long programme of music, performances, speeches and DJ’s. For the first time, there will also be a DJ tent, with a line up from 12pm to 8pm. Full details and a programme for UK Black Pride, Europe’s largest celebration for African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean-heritage LGBTQI+ people, is online now at www.ukblackpride.org.uk.
