Time Out Magazine has published its final printed edition, after fifty four years. Founded in 1968 as part of the London underground press of the day, Time Out was the brainchild of Harvey Elliot. According to a report on cable channel Euronews, Time Out was initially just one sheet of xeroxed information about things to do in London. But within a few years it had grown into a magazine with hundreds of listings. For LGBTQIA people, Time Out was also a place for comprehensive gay listings for the capital, and a safe magazine to buy, should they be worried or not confident enough to purchase a bone fide LGBTQIA publication. Time Out championed a diverse and independent London. It will continue online and as a daily electronic newsletter.
