Parliamentary Group Looks at "Conversions"

The All Party Parliamentary Group on LGBT+ Rights has uploaded a brief excerpt discussion conference on the necessity of including transgender people in any ban on Conversion Therapies being pursued by Parliament.  The panel was chaired by The Right Reverend David Walker, Bishop of Manchester, and included contributions from Mr Victor Madrigal-Borloz, UN Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, with Dr Adam Jowett, Chair of the British Psychological Society Psychology of Sexualities Section, Lead Author of the Government commissioned research ‘Conversion therapy: an evidence assessment and qualitative study’, and Prof Zoë Playdon, Emeritus Professor of Medical Humanities, University of London, with Dr Sophie Quinney, Clinical Director & GP Gender Clinician , Welsh Gender Service.  The panel fed back to the All Party Group the need to lobby the government for the reinstatement of a ban on anti-transgender pseudotherapies.
