A statue of Emily Davison, the famous suffrage activist who died at Epsom in 1913 as she stood in front of the King's racehorse, has been unvieled by her relatives at the town's marketplace, one hundred and eight years after her passing. Leader of the British Women’s Equality Party, Mandu Reid, spoke to those gathered ahead of the unveiling. "A woman whose life and courage, despite the brutality and ostracization that she endured, is an inspiration, a beacon, an example”, Reid told the Surrey Comet Newspaper.
