The BBC News Channel and BBC-1's News at Ten reported on the scandal of forced adoption of children born to women living out of wedlock during the fifties, sixties and in to the seventies, when the changing morality of the sexual revolution brought the heinous practice to an end. Meeting with some women who had to give their babies away, reporters found that NHS staff had been complicit in cruel and unusual treatment of them as pressure was exerted to sign away their offspring. The feature also met with people who had been so adopted under duress and how they found that their lives had been impacted by trauma.
