“Up Our Street”, a community newspaper for the Easton and Barton Hill areas of Bristol, reports that the Fostering and Adoption Team of the local City Council are particularly interested in hearing from potential carers in these districts to help provide a stable home for young people in care. The Team has regular meetings with the Council of Young People in Care, which represents nearly seven hundred children and teenagers in need of a new loving family. LGBT people have long been recognised by the city as being able to offer stable and loving homes and anyone interested in learning more about what being a foster carer entails, can visit the Bristol City Council website. Independent advice and support for people thinking of fostering is also available if you search the web for “LGBT fostering and adoption” as there are a range of grass roots mutual support networks available.
