Church in Norway Apologises for Homophobia

26/10/2025

The Peter Tatchell Foundation for Human Rights reports "The head of the Church of Norway, Olav Fykse Tveit, has publicly apologised for decades of discrimination against LGBT+ people. He made the apology at the gay bar  in Oslo, where an Islamist terrorist killed two people during a past Pride event. The Bishop admitted the Church caused ‘shame, great harm & pain’.  Mr Tatchell added "This apology is long overdue & a model of humility that the Archbishop of Canterbury should now follow."
