Top Lingerie Brand Bounces Back

17/10/2025

The 19th, an independent news site in the US, spoke at length on instagram this week of the welcome return of VIctoria's Secret to catwalks.  Six years after a former director of the company said that they would not be using trans or plus size models to promote their products, the firm has done just that.  The 19th takes up the story, saying "The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show seemed determined to make an inclusive comeback Wednesday night after years of being criticized for excluding plus-size and transgender models. It featured several historic firsts and all-women musical guests, a notable approach at a time when diversity, equity and inclusion are under attack.  The show opened with veteran Victoria’s Secret model Jasmine Tookes, who is nine months pregnant, in a netted one-piece dress that revealed her bump and the nude bra-and-panty set she wore underneath it, a reference to Botticelli's “Birth of Venus” painting.  Alex Consani was the first transgender model to walk the show and WNBA star Angel Reese, the first professional athlete.   In one of her two outfits, Reese wore a rose-covered bra, panties and garter set, a matching feathered shawl draped over her arms. Six-time Olympic medalist Sunisa Lee strutted in a pink sports bra and black shorts as K-pop girl group TWICE performed live onstage.   Supermodel Barbara Palvin returned to the catwalk four weeks after breaking her foot and four months after having surgery for endometriosis, challenging the traditional able-bodied aesthetic of past shows".
