The gay fashion brand Andrew Christian has some words of advice and encouragement for heterosexual cisgender fellows visiting a gay bar, perhaps with a gay friend, perhaps with a group of women who understand that queer spaces are safe for them. The full ten point guide has lots of good elements within, pointing out that pitfalls straight visitors sometimes make to our spaces, and teaching a little about etiquette and where that history comes from. They say "Let’s get one thing straight (pun absolutely intended): we love our straight allies. Especially the ones who know how to behave at a gay bar without treating it like a zoo exhibit or a TikTok challenge. If you’re a straight guy venturing into queer territory for the first time — welcome! We see you. We support you. We’d just like to offer a little guidance so you don’t make us collectively sigh into our vodka sodas."
