Media website RCS Radio Today reports that the Channel Four network is to join forces with KISSFMs network of dance music themed radio stations to promote body acceptance and raise issues of body confidence in listeners and viewers. Simon Kilby, MD at Bauer Media Advertising which owns Kiss FM, said: “KISS and Channel 4 are both known for pushing boundaries and connecting with younger audiences in an authentic, unfiltered way – so this campaign felt like a natural fit.” KISS Breakfast presenters Jordan and Perri are taking part in a series of on-air and online challenges designed to push their comfort zones in fun and creative ways. These include life drawing classes and listener-led features, all aimed at engaging KISS’s younger audience in conversations around body image. KISS FM and Channel Four both have a radical history. Channel Four still is a public corporation, funded by paid for advertising, but aimed at serving minority tastes and providing a compliment to ITV and BBC services. Kiss FM Began life in 1985 as a pirate FM station in the capital, and was one of the first of the landbased pirates to gain a legal frequency in 1990. It is now a major brand serving young people through various services.
