Instead of the hearsay and conjecture of right wing newspapers, feminist commentators and the fairweather parts of the left, academics are investigating the truth behind claims that trans+ athletes experience greater range, power and athleticism against cisgender ones.
In a request for participants in an ongoing scientific investigation, the University says:
Do you train six hours or more per week to improve performance?
Are you interested in measuring your performance in a laboratory, looking at strength, body composition and aerobic capacity?
MMU is running a study to compare the athletic performance of cisgender athletes compared with matched transgender athletes, in different sports.
What we are seeking
* Cisgender men and women athletes who:
* Train 6 hours a week or more to improve performance
* Aerobic, resistance and team sports athletes are welcome.
* Age 18 to 39
* You will be screened to match a transgender athlete's age, weight, height, training and body mass index.
* If you match with a transgender participant, you will be asked to attend a one day data gathering session at the Institute of Sport Building at 99 Oxford Road, Manchester.
Please contact Doctor Blair Hamilton to be screened for participation.
