Marriage Equality Comes to Thailand

The BBC News Channel reports that marriage equality is now a reality in Thailand, after the recommendations of a Parliamentary vote received Royal Assent.  Some two hundred same sex couples enjoyed a mass wedding at a Bangkok shopping mall.  However, whilst samesex marriage has widespread support in Thailand, correspondents noted that the country is ahead of most of its neighbours, where political repression goes hand in glove with heterosexual supremacist policies.
