Exploring Intersectionality of Movements

28/10/2024

n the United States, the Boston branch of Muslims for Progressive Values, which has a strong tradition of supporting LGBTQIA+ people of a Muslim background says that they   participated in ‘No Pride in Genocide’ march  that took place in Providence, Rhode Island to demand Ceasefire now in Palestine.  The demonstration was organised by left wing group Party for Socialism and Liberation.  According to the PSL Press Release, the theme of the march was "No Pride in Genocide" and "No Queer Liberation without Palestinian Liberation".  The march took place on Saturday 15th June.  But pro-Israel LGBTQIA+ people pointed out that Israel remains a safe haven for many LGBT+ Palestinians who have had to leave family and friends within the Palestinian territories.  The issue continues to divide LGBTQIA+ discourse.
