Marking World Mental Health Day

11/10/2024

We stay with media, where we were alerted by long running Birmingham based commercial radio station BRMB that as we go out on Thursday October 10th, it is World Mental Health Day.  BRMB was one of a number of local and national services transmitting special promos reminding people of ways to take care of their mental and emotional health.  We think as well that it is worth reminding our communities that there are steps we can all take to help ourselves and each other when we are challenged by our feelings and thoughts.  Remember that the National LGBT Switchboard is available from 10am to 10pm every day on 0800 0119 100, The Samaritans are on 116 123 and our friends at Trans Radio UK operate a specialist line called TRUK Listens on 0800 009 6640.  Lots of local and specialist helplines are also available.  Be sure to keep tuned to community media services for further information.  And remember, you are not alone and there is no need to suffer in silence.  Or as granny would tell you, a problem shared is a problem halved.
