Whilst not taking any sides in British political affairs, the network for LGBTQIA+ people from a Sikh background, the Sarbat network, said that it broadly welcomed the fact that the new elected Labour Government of Sir Kier Starmer have a large mandate to ban conversion therapy after a terrific showing at the recent General Election. A Sarbat press release said "The new Labour government in the U.K. has committed to Trans Inclusive Conversion Practices Ban and Sarbat are linked into this work through our volunteer Pritpal who is part of the Ban Conversion Therapy Coalition." Sarbat also are promoting UK Black Pride, more details of which will be announced soon. This year UK Black Pride is at QE Olympic Park in London on the afternoon of Sunday 11th August.
