Huge Rally in London Reminds us About Nature

21/08/2024

Rainbow Rebellion, which is the LGBTQIA+ action group within the wider Extinction Rebellion Movement, say that a huge coalition of charities, wildlife, conservation and progressive organisations are coming together on Sunday 22nd June for a midsummer rally in London to help influence politicians to take better care of the environment.  The ER press release says "Restore Nature Now is a group of nature, wildlife, and climate organisations and public figures organising a family-friendly national demonstration, ‘Restore Nature Now' on Saturday 22 June 2024, in central London.   This is going to be a big event! We need lots of stewards, and also lots of people to talk to other people on the march to help bring them to our next big action (Outreach). These are our two most important priorities.  There are also roles for Wellbeing and DeEscalation crew, Production & Logistics, Street Speakers and help with accessibility (e.g meeting and accompanying people, positioning kerb lifts, supporting wheelchair users, stewarding the accessible viewing area etc).   Whilst most of the roles will involve moving with the march, there are some roles planned to be static along the route.   Even if you have never been a Steward or other crew before, don't worry - training is given online beforehand and we will arrange you into small teams which have a mixture of new and experienced volunteers.   So please volunteer and even better get your friends and family to volunteer with you! It's a great way to feel part of the event and know you are personally making a difference".   If you can help or want more information, please visit:  https://extinctionrebellion.uk/restore-nature-now/
