Paris Olympic Torch Bearer Gains Huge Support

11/06/2024

The Mayor of Paris has stood up for local drag artist Minima Gesté, who will be carrying the Olympic flame part of the distance at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympiad later this year.  Predictably, neo-Nazis, full time hate groups and religious extremists attacked the decision, and also the appointment of African chanteuse Aya Nakamura to perform at the games.  But they were reminded by the Mayor that France has comprehensive anti-hate crime laws and that incitement to violence is a criminal offence.  In addition Minima herself said that she did not really care what the right wing rabble complained about.  She said that she was proud to represent the Parisian values of peace and humanity.
