LGBTQIA+ New Age people, folklore enthusiasts, pagans and spiritual practitioners are looking forward to the festival of Beltane or MayDay. Celebrations will be happening all over the world, but particularly here in the spiritual West of England.
Albion Faeries, the radical New Age group that emerged from the gay counterculture of the seventies, is holding a drumming circle in London. Here's what they have to say:
ALBIONFAERIE BELTANE KICKS OFF ON APRIL 20TH - The day that the Sun arrives in earthy Taurus, just a couple of days before the FULL MOON IN SCORPIO - and THERE WILL BE DRUMMING!
Full Moon Drum Circle
Saturday April 20th DOORS OPEN 7.30pm
Wheatsheaf Hall, Wheatsheaf Lane off South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall, London SW8 2UP
April 20th - 4:20 - the day when cannabis campaigners around the world rally to celebrate the magical, healing and spiritual powers of the sacred herb. Recently deceased veteran and hero of the counter-culture scene Lee Harris (who stood as London mayoral candidate in 2015) commented that in the 1960s, “divorce, gay rights, women’s rights, everyone, everything changed except cannabis and we think it’s time that this country gets rid of its archaic laws and becomes part of the 21st century.”
So let's drum for liberation of nature! How insane that a plant created by nature to be medicine and spiritual tool for humanity is illegal! Let's dance and have A ONE LOVE CELEBRATION!
Drumming is an ancient practice that boosts our mental health and creativity, helps regulate our nervous system, assists us to process our emotions, creates and bonds community, and connects us to the spirit world. By making ceremony with drums and dancing at full moon we heal and attune our bodies, minds and souls to nature's cycles and rythms.
At the Drum Circle there are lots of drums and percussion to share round, you can also bring your own instruments, of any kind. Welcome to bring snacks to share and own refreshments. DONATION requested £5-£10, on door or paypal to https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/shokti
