Gay cabinet member of the Biden Administration in Washington, Peter Buttigieg, has defended the performance of the Democratic President as a new poll for ABC News said that a majority of Democrats would want someone else to represent the party in the 2024 Presidential Elections. Mr Buttigieg was speaking on Cable News Network, CNN, and remarked “I would say you can’t argue with a straight face that it isn’t a good thing that we have had 12 million jobs created under this president. And, by the way, a lot of the jobs are in manufacturing. As somebody who grew up in the industrial midwest, it’s been so moving to see hundreds of thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs being created, including in rural areas, small towns in places like Tennessee and Louisiana, and Georgia and Indiana, the kind of growth that benefits the entire American people.” Mr Biden is currently the oldest President to be sworn in to the White House and would be approaching his nineties if re-elected in 2024. However, age equality campaigners have welcomed his willingness to stand for the Democratic Party’s nomination, which has been hinted at, but yet to be formally confirmed.
