Brooklyn LGBTQIA Venue Gets Massive Support

21/04/2022

A man faces a possible forty year prison term in New York after deliberately setting fire to a popular LGBTQIA bar in the diverse and close knit Brooklyn neighbourhood.  Unhinged heterosexual bigot John Lhota injured several members of staff at Rash Nightclub which had just closed for the evening when he struck on April 3rd.  Police and firefighters giving evidence in the courts noted how the attack could have killed many people, not just in the club but in adjacent residential blocks.  But, LGBTQIA communities are resilient in the face of hatred, and Pink News notes that a Go Fund Me Page to refurbish and rebuild the venue and meet other costs associated with the incident has already raised upwards of one hundred thousand dollars.
