Alan Cumming Defends Return of OBE

Gay actor and advocate Alan Cumming, who returned his OBE on his fifty eighth birthday has hit back at right wing trolls including motormouth Piers Morgan who attacked his decision, which Mr Cumming says was due to consideration of the “way the British Empire profited at the expense (and death) of indigenous people across the world”. Speaking on the Michaelangelo Signorile programme on Sirius XM Radio, Mr Cumming noted ““I think if you’re p**sing off Piers Morgan, you’re on the right track. I think that lump of ignorance, if I’m p**sing him off, I’m doing the right thing.” Many people tweeted their support for Mr Cumming, with mental health campaigner Ashley Fulwood noting “He’s choosing to go with his morals and beliefs, his choice. Not something you ever need to worry about Morgan so don’t worry.”
