Week Two of Protests Sees Trans+ Groundswell

26/04/2025

What the Trans!? campaign network reports that over the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April, there will be a second weekend of demonstrations and protests across the UK in support of the trans community.  This follows the contested decision of the supreme court of the definition of "woman" in the context of the Equalities Act of 2010.

What the Trans!? has also assembled a summary page of protests, and petitions that are ongoing.  https://whatthetrans.com/compilation-of-protests-against-the-supreme-cou... One of the most important, we felt, was one on Change.org that encourages the organisers of London Pride to bar the Labour Party from participating in the march and event in 2025, given the apparent capitulation of the Party in Parliament to transphobic and generally right wing forces, its refusal to back trans equality, and its crackdown on people in receipt of benefits.
