Translatable Project Launched for Trans POC+

05/08/2024

Philip Zonkel writing at Q Voice News reports that NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade and Zaya, his transgender daughter, have launched Translatable, an online resource for trans youth of colour and their families.  Translatable offers a safe space “for youth to express themselves through a number of creative outlets” and will “focus on communities of colour, center the most marginalized, and emphasize the importance of parents and family,” Zaya Wade, who is 16, said.  In an introduction to the website of the project, Zaya said that she loves fashion, reading science fiction, and singing like no one’s listening! On an average day, you can catch her studying, on a college tour (Class of 2025!), or maybe even on your nearest runway.  The Translatable project is part of the Foundation founded by the family.  According to the project, the Wade Family Foundation is an activation lab for the family’s core values, responding in real time to issues that touch their hearts and minds.  https://www.translatableproject.com/
