Trans activists are celebrating following the refusal of a judicial review for the “Authentic Equity Alliance”, the spectacularly misnamed front group for the LGB Alliance which aims to split the LGBTQ movement. The Alliance had sought leave to challenge the guidance of the Equality and Human Rights Commission on trans equalities. In particularly, the anti-trans activists had sought to restrict the circumstances in which trans women are protected under the 2010 Equality Act, and the maximise the number of spaces where agencies could refuse services. In the event, the Judges refused the Authentic Equity Alliance permission for a judicial review. Our thanks to Transsafety Network for their comprehensive transcriptions of the legal case.
