The festival of Rosh Hashanah falls during this weekend. The Jewish New Year is celebrated by many LGBTQIA Jews, whether or not they are usually observant of religious practice. Wikipedia notes "Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: ראש השנה "Beginning of the Year") is the Jewish New Year, and falls on the first and second days of the Jewish month of Tishrei (September/October)". The Jewish New Year is celebrated with "Many Jewish families gathering for a special meal to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, which commences at nightfall the day before Tishrei 1. Celebrations begin after the evening prayer where family and friends join in to reflect on the past and make a fresh start for the New Year" (Time and Date website). The Jewish New Year ushers in a period of reflection and atonement that ends with the festival of Yom Kippur (25th September in 2023), and the period between is known as the "High Holy Days".
"ShoutOut" wishes Jewish LGBTQIA People and their friends, families and allies a very Shanah tovah,
