Weekend Protests Raise Important Issues

21/04/2017

Two demonstrations will take place on Saturday, so please read carefully for details. At 1pm in Eastville Park, the feminist group Sisters Uncut invites women, including trans women, to join them to protest what they call police harassment of their squatted takeover of a library on Cheltenham Road to highlight the impact of austerity on women and indeed the whole community. Then at 3pm, LGBT and human rights groups join forces on College Green in Central Bristol to pressurise the Russian Authorities to investigate the detention and deaths of gay, bi and trans people in a concentration camp facility in the Chechen semi-autonomous region. The event is being co-ordinated by Bristol LGBT Forum, who say bring pink flowers if you can.
