The I Newspaper says that many moderate members of the Conservative Party are alarmed and distressed at its apparent drift to the far right and its use of conspiracy theories, hatred of minorities and creeping authoritarianism on issues such as public protest, environmental concerns and indifference to people it tramples on, evidenced by its tabloid call to force disabled people back to work. Party Chairman Greg Hands denies that there has been an orchestrated campaign of entryism, whereby people from extremist groups infiltrate the Conservatives to push it to a far right agenda. The reporters for the I Newspaper, however, Francis Elliott, says that moderate Conservative member of the Greater London Assembly, Andrew Boff, had been thrown out of the Party conference for questioning the fixation with transgender people. Mr Boff told reporters that the Home Secretary was "making our party look homophobic and transphobic". Meanwhile, the LGBT+ Group within the Conservative Party, campaigning for our community in the context of Conservative ideas, says that they will have their next social on Wednesday 1st November at a venue in London.
