LGBT+ Solidarity Groups Support Nature March

07/09/2024

The left wing weekly newspaper Socialist Worker says that some three hundred and fifty organisations, ranging from moderate conservation groups to Hunt Saboteurs and radical direct action advocates, were represented on the Restore Nature Now Coalition march on June 22nd in London, a fifty thousand strong demonstration that urged government and pressured politicians to take the environment seriously, especially in the run up to a General Election.  LGBTQIA+ Solidarity groups were represented and many on the left of the LGBTQIA+ movement supported the coalition.  Socialist Worker reported that "Asad Rehman from War on Want received some of the biggest cheers for any of the speakers. He spoke passionately about linking the fight for nature with the cost of living crisis and the end of the war in Gaza."
