The activist group Dyke Project has been intervening in the ongoing community discussions about how best LGBTQIA people can help show solidarity with gay, trans, lesbian and non-binary Palestinian people during the current war between Israel and the Hamas controlled Gaza strip. The group, which was initially founded to prove to separatist lesbian talking heads Julie Bindel and Kathleen Stock that feminist attacks on transgender people were not representative of the lesbian population at large, has been intervening in other political debates, says the Independent Newspaper. Like the gay human rights activist Peter Tatchell, the Dyke Project have charted a course independent of either wholehearted support for Israel, or of unqualified support for the Palestinian territories. Instead, and showing maturity and nuance in a highly emotive debate, the Dyke Project have installed some unofficial posters on London tube trains, and they said "replaced advertisements with stories from queer Palestinians and a call for the end to the occupation". One gay woman on the former Twitter site, said "The sillier left groups who think that everything Hamas does is great, will hate it, and the Christian zionists who think everything the Israeli state does is great, will hate it even more. In other words, it's a direct action much needed". https://linktr.ee/thedykeproject
