"Cruel" Widdecombe Out of Touch on Food Price

18/05/2023

A former Conservative Government minister who earned herself the monicker "Doris Karloff" from her Parliamentary colleagues, has been slammed as "out of touch" and "profoundly cruel" with her latest utterances.  Anne Widdecombe, a Roman Catholic fundamentalist, who quit the Church of England and converted to Catholicism because she objected to Anglican women becoming priests, said that people who were struggling to make ends meet because of government austerity, should "not eat cheese sandwiches".  The Daily Mirror said that the weird remark was "patronising" and showed the contempt with which Widdecombe views hard working people.  Widdecombe is also fixated on homosexuality, and once said that she hoped that "science" would find a "solution" to being gay.   Bad news for Widdecombe - despite dubious research from some scientists, the origins and mechanisms of human sexuality remain as unfathomable as ever.
