Ken McCallum, the Director General of counter espionage specialists MI5 has told journalists that around twenty per cent of counter-terrorism operations now deal with the threat of far right wing violence. Channel Four News reported that heterosexual boys were particularly prone to becoming groomed by Nazi organisations and other far rightists. In one case, a boy of thirteen was investigated by MI5 for planning violent terror offences. Anti-nazi campaigners have noted that, with the end of electoral success for the far right BNP some ten years ago and the implosion of a lot of far right groups, a new, Nihilistic type of Nazi has emerged, planning lone attacks with support coming from the darker parts of the far right wing internet.
