Some weeks ago we mentioned the tumblr blog “Challenging Fat Phobia” for its body inclusivity, and its embrace of trans, asexual and all other identities that fit under our broad rainbow banner. Well, here’s another one that was suggeseted to us. A daily updated tumblr called “Shapely Women”. Its gay and trans friendly and is dedicated to all types of female beauty, with a focus on curvy women. It’s also a wonderful resource for the art of diverse female beauty, featuring paintings from the past. Modern cartoon work sits alongside paintings from the Indian Mughal period, representational art from early Mexico and even very ancient Egyptian representation of black, larger women. The inaugurator of the blog says “This blog was started in 2008, and now has over two thousand paintings of women of all shapes, shades and sizes. You can also view my growing collection of more than six hundred male portraits over at Eyes on Homme.”
