British Papers Are Full of "Lies, and Spite"

Community Radio, college radio and small independent broadcasting stations such as the ones this programme broadcasts on are a choice for positivity in news output, promoting inclusion, tolerance and respect in the public sphere. In the “Guardian” columnist Nesrine Mailk slams the British newspapers and the right wing television and talk radio networks for their deleterious effect on political discourse. Nesrine says they are “a raging furnace of rightwing provocation, spitting out lies, fear and spite, shaping a political culture of miserliness and insularity. People look to the media not just for information but for a moral compass, and that needle is currently pointing in one direction: away from a world of equality and shared resources.”
