The right wing activist Laurence Fox has lost a high court battle against a former trustee of the Stonewall Charity and a drag artist, both of whom he falsely labelled as paedophiles in retaliation for them describing his anti-black tropes as racist. Simon Blake who was a trustee for the respected LGBTQIA charity Stonewall and now works for a mental health charity, said that the idea that gay men and drag queens were paedophiles was a slur "as old as the hills" in an interview for the Guardian newspaper. The drag artist Crystal told the court of the harrowing experience of being targetted by right wing thugs and supporters of Mr Fox's anti-gay "Reform Party" on social media - an experience which had made him feel unsafe. The Guardian estimates that the cost of the case was in total around two million pounds. The BBC News Channel which has often been demonised by Mr Fox and his associates for supposed "left wing" bias - which is not proven, provided some additional context, reporting that Crystal said of the case " I am incredibly relieved to have this outcome - a huge weight I've been carrying for over three years has just been lifted. I want to say again that I took no joy in bringing this case, nor did I do so lightly. Mr Fox could have made this go away very early on with a meaningful apology and settlement. I hope it will make some difference in the ongoing demonisation of queer people as 'groomers' or 'dangerous'. This is a lesson: we will not take it." Mr Fox hosted a weekly GB News show until recently, when he was sacked by the ultra-conservative channel after an outcry about comments he made on air about a female journalist. Mr Fox claimed that he would appeal the courts decision.
