KDFW television station in Dallas, Texas has revealed that a fundamentalist Christian extremist, who rants and raves about LGBTQIA+ people and especially trans people, and who wishes to impose Biblical fundamentalism on the United States, has himself been arrested for sex trafficking offences. LGBTQ+ Nation pulls no punches when describing the obscene crimes of Terrence “Terren” Dames, who has now been removed from the preaching roster at the fundamentalist church at wish he advocated his hatred of gay people and trans people. According to the affidavit, an undercover Plano officer posed as a sex worker and placed an ad on a website commonly used by individuals to solicit sex for money. On May 2, Dames called the number in the ad and offered to pay $150 for the “full service,” which the affidavit explained is slang for intercourse. Bianca Davis, CEO of New Friends New Life, a non-profit that helps victims of sex trafficking and exploitation, says sex work is rarely a victimless crime. “In the vast majority of cases, there is a trafficker or a pimp who is behind the scenes who she must then turn over that money to, which is a part of the definition,” Davis said. “It’s an important way to get the message out, hopefully to others, that there are consequences” to solicitation, “and by the way, this is criminal behavior.” Campaigners are calling for Mr Dames to feel the full force of the law, with some noting that according to the Biblical law that he seems to wish on others, he would be executed several times over.
