New Gender Identity Clinics to Come Online

22/11/2024

The BBC News Channel reports that Six new regional centres created to support under 18s struggling with their gender identity will open over the next two years, according to the NHS in England.  They will join two existing clinics, as part of an overhaul of gender services for children and young people.  But the proposals have been slammed by many groups who advocate for trans people and in particular trans young people.  The Cass Review, on which many of the governments and NHS's proposed reforms are based, has been widely criticised by professionals and the families of transgender people themselves.  The website Trans Actual has a wide range of resources available which critique the methodology of the Cass review.
