The UK grassroots reproductive rights network Abortion Rights UK has issued a statement on the first anniversary of the right wing US Supreme Court striking down the 1973 Roe versus Wade ruling that allowed for abortion across the States. They said " In a single moment, the access to crucial healthcare services was brutally snatched away from millions of individuals who have the ability to become pregnant. This serves as a stark reminder that we cannot afford to be complacent. As we reflect on this anniversary, it is imperative that we recognise the importance of protecting and guaranteeing abortion rights. We cannot allow ourselves to become indifferent or passive. It is disheartening to acknowledge that in England , a woman is currently imprisoned for undergoing an abortion past the legal time limitations, prosecuted under outdated Victorian legislation. In light of these alarming circumstances, it is vital that we remain steadfast and resolute in our commitment to defending reproductive rights. Unite and join forces with Abortion Rights, as. an organisation we dedicated to safeguarding the right to choose"
