Daytime TV on Message Against Gay "Cures"

16/05/2021

Channel 4 Television’s lunchtime magazine programme Steph’s Packed Lunch   on Thursday investigated the campaign for a prohibition on anti-gay conversion therapies, which in this day in age are only being offered by fundamentalist religious groups to people who are already marginalized.  The programme met with people who had been subjected to this type of fake therapy, and explored how the religious groups tried to undermine a person’s sense of worth and value to get them to obey their diktats.  Powerful daytime viewing, but hopeful as the piece also met with campaigners who are pressing the government and opposition in Parliament for legal changes.
