Bristol Academic on Silencing of LGBT Parents

Bristol based academic Doctor Finn MacKay writes in the Guardian on the prejudiced attitudes of straight society which tries to marginalise LGBTQIA parents through control of language.  There is no attempt to rewrite standard narratives on parenting, says Doctor MacKay, contrary to what the right wing papers might claim.  Rather, their agenda is to marginalise samesex parents.  Doctor MacKay writes from her own experience and notes “As a non-biological parent, I regularly have to deal with misconceptions and assumptions about what my role is in relation to my children, and how these children came into existence”.
