Pride Takes Place in Montenegro, Bringing Joy

Radio Free Europe, the famous pro-dissident radio station, financed by the US and which beams democratic news into countries where the media is controlled by authoritarians, reports that hundreds braved the rain and joined the LGBT Pride parade in Montenegro's capital, Podgorica, on October 21st. Among the participants were cabinet members, party leaders, and ambassadors. It was the 11th annual edition of this event in the Western Balkan country. This year's motto was self-determination, in a reference to the activists' demand that Montenegro allow a free choice of gender identity.
