Popular dance music network Radio FG in France and Belgium has expressed its solidarity with rapper Will I Am and his band the “Black Eyed Peas”, who are perhaps most famous for their 2003 hit single “Where is the Love?” Performing in Poland at the New Year, the band elected to wear rainbow armbands as a gesture of solidarity with the country’s beleaguered LGBTQIA people, as well as women, gypsies and other minorities facing the wrath of a highly conservative administration. Will confessed to being taken aback at the deluge of hatred he experienced from Polish nationalists, far right extremists and religious fundamentalists on the internet. He remarked ““ Where is the love? Unity, tolerance, understanding, respect, diversity, inclusion is LOVE… People are what they are and we should all honor and love this diversity on Earth ”. Radio FG said that whilst Will and his bandmates had suspended their social media profiles under the weight of the hatred, they were standing firm and refusing to give ground to the far right.
