Radio Free Europe, which beams pro-democracy programmes at countries where there is little tradition of democracy, meets up with Tamar Jakeli, of the Pride Committee in the troubled Russian border state of Georgia. Jakeli, also a member of the Georgian Green Party, tells of attempts by conservative parties, whom some allege are funded by Russia, to institute non sensical legislation cracking down on NGOs, charities and liberal democratic values, often citing a supposed "LGBT+ conspiracy" as their reasoning. But the right may not be successful in their efforts. Whilst being a conservative country culturally, most Georgians are simply not interested in LGBT+ issues, and certainly do not believe there to be some kind of international conspiracy. Rather, the vast majority of voters are concerned with the economy and the alleged links of the ruling party to Russian militaristic efforts.
