Dutch Village Celebrates Pride in Style

Radio Gelderland, a regional radio service in the  central east part of the Netherlands, reports that Pride in the Village of Ede has taken place.  Esther van Vliet is one of the organizers.  She said ""A Pride like this is just important. If you just look at the well-being of LGBTIQ+ people. It's just getting worse. This includes mental health, social safety and even suicidal thoughts."  This is the third year in which the Pride has been  organized for Ede, and according to Van Vliet there is not much different from the previous editions. "For the first time we have artists, otherwise just the same as the previous event," she said.  There is good news too, in policing, with the culprits who vandalised a rainbow bench being caught red-handed in the act.  The organisers of Pride have struck a magnanimous note, saying that before prosecution, they would like to talk the offenders to learn why they are such hateful individuals.
