Gay Hero Paul O'Grady gives Xmas Radio Gift

28/11/2022

The independent radio sector is buzzing after a big coup for the older people’s radio station “Boom Radio”, which broadcasts on the DAB platform nationally.  Gay icon and all round entertainment hero Paul O’Grady has agreed to host a programme on Christmas Day, live from his home.  Mr O’Grady will be live from his home studio at twelve noon, with guests, chat and plenty of festive music.  Boom Radio’s Co-founder David Lloyd said: “This is an absolute coup for Boom and we’re delighted Paul is joining us. So many of our listeners told us how much they missed hearing Paul on the radio, and how much he’d feel at home with the atmosphere on our station because we play music for their generation.”  Mr O’Grady was for many years a staple of BBC Radio Two but left his slot earlier in the year over differences in scheduling decisions.
