Gay scriptwriter, novelist and television impresario Russell T Davies, whose work includes "Queer as Folk" and "It's A Sin", was celebrated on BBC Radio Two on Sunday evening as he attended a live transmitted concert of music for the new season of "Doctor Who", the legendary television science fiction programme with a huge LGBTQIA following, which first aired sixty years ago this November. Mr Davies was speaking to lifelong Who fan Jo Whiley about the new season of the programme, which he helped revive to network television in 2005, after a sixteen year hiatus, and which he has now returned to once again to help direct the show towards its seventh decade on the air. The music featured in the concert was from the many ages of the programme, and featured Murray Gold, who also returns to "Doctor Who" to score the new season of adventures. "Doctor Who" returns to BBC 1 in November. It's sixtieth anniversary will be on 23rd November.
