BBC-2 Television presents several features of possible interest to LGBTQ audiences on Saturday evening. At 9pm, Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, both pioneers of women's representation on television in their respective ways, visit the vineyards of France in a documentary inspired by their alcohol dependent alter-egos from the outrageously camp series Asbolutely Fabulous. Then at 10pm, the pair reprise their roles as Edina and Patsy for the movie version of the Ab Fab franchise. Expect giggles and campery as they are joined on screen by Julia Sawahlia and June Whitfield amongst many others.
Then at 12.45am and taking us through the small hours, BBC-2 broadcasts “Love is the Devil”, which explores the heavy SM relationship between gay painter Francis Bacon and his lover George Dyer. Feminist icon Tilda Swinton is a co-star in the movie.
