On this week's "ShoutOut", we enjoyed preparing for that quintessentially positive, pro-peace, progressive and very gay event, the Eurovision Song Contest. But lots of the family of community broadcasters that take "ShoutOut" are planning their own festivities.
Ollie from Bath Community Radio was our cohost this week, bringing his encyclopedic knowledge of the Eurovision Song Contest to the show. But that's not the only chance you have to hear a Euro build up. Ollie will be back on the air on the big day itself, kicking off Bath Radio's Eurovision festivities from 10am to 1pm at https://www.bathradio.org.uk/. Why not join him with a morning coffee, or dare we say it, a camp cheeky mimosa as you prepare for the main Eurovision Song Contest. Incidentally, coverage of the main event itself is on public service broadcasters across the European Broadcasting Union area, Here in the UK, that means BBC-1 Television from 8pm to midnight and on BBC Radio Two (DAB and 88-91 FM) with an after party after the contest. In The Republic of Ireland, your coverage is also from 8pm to midnight on RTE-1 Television and in super stereo on RTE Radio 2FM on 90-91.5 FM.
Bath Community Radio, meanwhile, broadcasts twenty four hours a day online. The station is also the longest established radio station on which "ShoutOut" broadcasts. They began broadcasting as Bath Hospital Radio in 1964 so are gearing up for big things in their sixtieth anniversary year.
